Trauma Specialist Kerri Green MFT

Areas of Expertise

Work with a trauma-informed, humanistic, and culturally sensitive therapist.

My approach is trauma-focused and draws upon my extensive training in somatic, mindfulness, and "inner parts" modalities such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, EMDR, Guided Imagery, and IFS (Internal Family Systems). I have over 12 years of experience in the field of trauma therapy.

The foundation of my approach includes warm acceptance and human connection. In addition to trauma processing, I'm here  to support you on your life's journey. With me, you'll have a sacred space to process day-to-day stressors and changes, and to work on cultivating self-compassion and self-love while decreasing negative self-talk.

Areas of focus include:

  • Trauma & PTSD

  • Inner critic and inner child work

  • Low self-esteem, low self-confidence

  • Toxic family dynamics

  • Adults abused and/or neglected as children

  • Adults choosing distancing or estrangement from family

  • Relationship and communication problems

  • Post-election stress, political & cultural anxiety

  • Identity issues

  • Grief and loss

I affirm and celebrate the broad spectrum of identities that exist around sexuality, sexual orientation, gender, relationship style, and cultural/ethnic background. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for all, including those who are LGBTQIA+ identified, and those who find themselves to be BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) in a world of discrimination.

In the spirit of social justice allyship, I strive to recognize the complex issues of systemic privilege and oppression, including how the intersections of these impacts my own sense of identity. When appropriate, I welcome discussion of these issues as part of our therapeutic work together.
